Roadhawk DC-2

Featured Replies

I've got a Roadhawk DC-2 with the latest (AFAIK) firmware.

Recently bought a new lappy with Win 10 64 bit and downloaded and updated to the latest Roadhhawk HD2 software but, it seems to be having issues formatting the SD Card which is a Sandisk 64 Gb Class 10 which is what's recommended by Roadhawk.

I thought maybe it's an issue with 64 bit so tried installing the same software from the same source (Roadhawk website) on a 32 bit Win 10 machine and when I try to open the programme (which is now called an app) I get the unhelpful message saying 'this app can't run on this version of windows', or words to that effect.

Anyone else had issues?

TIA

I run Roadhawk HD on a W10 64bit HP Envy with no issues, in fact I have just upgraded my 32Gb SD card to 128Gb.

Only thing I can think of is;

Did you download the correct software for the appropriate machine, 32bit for 32 and 64bit for 64?

The other thing to remember is to place the SD card into the camera and leave it running for a minute or two before using the RH HD software.

From the RH HD User Guide;

I inserted the SD card, nothing is happening.

The software looks for files made by the camera. If the card has not been used in a RoadHawk camera or if the files have been deleted by the user or if the SD card has recently been formatted then the software will not do anything. Insert the SD card in to the RoadHawk camera, power the camera on and leave for at least 20 seconds before unplugging the camera. Now you can use the SD card and the software will be able to work.
SD card, nothing is happening.

They only list software for Windows or Mac. No separate version for 32 or 64. Upon rechecking their site it says for win 7 8 and 8.1. No mention of 10 yet so I guess I'll have to wait until they write compatible software.

But my laptop IS Windows 10.and 64bit. And it works no problem.

Have you tried a different memory card?

If you still have issues, I'd email them.

SDD card is fresh out of the pack. It records fine and the software plays it fine. It just won't let me reformat or change settings from default 1 min record time to 15 minutes.

A message might be the next step.

I made the mistake of buying a Roadhawk HD and was so unimpressed by it, I removed it from the car and have since lost it. Oh well that's £230, I won't be seeing again.

The nighttime capabilities of it leave very much to be desired. I only used the software once and found it to be cr4p like the camera.

Got a 0806 Mini at the moment, it's OK, but nothing special, looking at a DOD LS430W or something like it.

Both our cars have the 0806 fitted, not bad for the price
