Rear brake upgrade; R32 disks & calipers?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Im looking at a new years present for the Octy (the xmas present was a nice Audi TT 312mm front brake setup). Im thinking of a rear disk upgrade to keep the car balanced under heavy braking (and for the aesthetics) and I have a few questions regarding this topic...

1, If I went for an R32 rear setup; what parts would I need? ie will I still use the standard rear octy calipers but spaced or is it all change for the R32 parts inc R32 calipers?

2, Would anyone have an idea of cost of the R32 rear conversion?

3, Is the standard 2002 4x4 1.8T master cylinder upto the job or should I look at an uprated part from something like an R32? I dont want the pedal feel to deteriorate.

4, This is an important one; will the standard 16" alloys still fit over a new larger rear setup? (I guess the answer to this is yes as the fronts shouldnt have a problem and they are 312mm in diameter).

5, Just how big are the R32 rear disks and are they the best option?

As always, thanks in advance! :)

will need calipers too as they are vented so wider

Bengie - considering I am on standard springs and dampers (I will be doing the R32 front arb and hopefully the Jabba rear arb asap) wont I get a fair bit of nose diving with just the front 312mm setup up front? TBH I think it dives a fair bit as standard.

Thanks for the input. :)

probably mate it rides like a fricking landy as standard
