Fabia Monte Carlo Estate

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Picked up our new Monte Carlo Estate a couple of weeks ago now. Loving it so far and actually liking it better than the Polo SE it replaced, especially the massive boot since we're expecting our first child in November.

It's totally standard with no options as it was already on it's way to the dealer when ordered but I put a set of Osram night breaker unlimited bulbs in yesterday to upgrade the standard dipped beams and fitted my dash cam.

Anyway, here it is after a mini detailing session,

How did you find changing the headlight bulbs?!

Nice in the white, looks like you were in the same situation as us with a baby on the way and needing a larger car, the boot really is massive compared to the competition in it's class. Enjoy, I'm sure you won't be disappointed, has fit the bill for us perfectly.

Good luck with the sleepless nights too. :)

Just driving a 1.0 estate as a hire car at the moment.

Its a bit of a squeeze with the rear facing child seat, the front passenger has to sit with little legroom. Octavia is much better in this respect.

But yes the boot is great. Took 2 fullsize suitcases, and the pram and wheels, and a couple of small bags. As big as the Octavia hatch boot.

1.0 litre struggled with the full load, but once up to speed its OK cruising.

The headlight bulbs were fairly easy! The offside can be done from within the engine bay, the nearside I had to use the inspection hatch in the wheel arch to get to the back of the bulb. Quarter turn anti clockwise and they pop straight out, just be sure to take note of which way up the holder needs to go back in to lock. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade though.

As for the baby seat, I've fitted enough at work into 3 door cars that I knew right away that it wasn't for me! So this was a good stepping stone, will probably look at Octavia estates or Yeti's when my wife's car is due for a change.

I've heard a lot about these sleepless nights I've got to look forward to, can't wait  :D

Our 0+ rear facing seat fits in pretty well behind the passenger seat, almost touching the rear of it, leaves plenty of front legroom, almost level with the drivers seat I would say, which I have pretty far back.

Tried it in the back of my 500 Abarth and a passenger couldn't fit in the front.
