Rear central locking and windows not working

Featured Replies

Hi just wondering if anyone can help I've got a mk1 skoda octavia estate vrs on an 04 plate and the central locking work's on the front driver's door, passengers door and boot but not the rear two door's also the front two electric windows work but the rear two don't I've checked the fuses but they all seem to be ok

Very common problem with mk1 Octavia's. Usually caused by water ingress into the large connector in the drivers door causing corrosion/broken contact pins or breaks in the wiring into the doors inside the rubber bellows.

Do the rear windows not work on the main switch panel in the drivers door or just not on the rear door window switches themselves?.

If it is the second scenario, then you may have a non functioning lockout switch on the drivers door switch panel.

Have you had the car long?, do you know if they have ever worked?. if not, regulators in rear doors may be disconnected due to failure at some point by previous owner. When my neighbour picked up a car for his daughter last week it had no n/s window working, when we striped it we found a length of 2x2 holding the window shut. :D

There was no motor in the rear passenger side it was held in by a piece of wood but I have bought a scrap vrs for part's and have fitted the motor from this and neither back window's are working, they aren't working from either the drivers door switch or the individual rear switch
