Heya from a non-skoda owner, pondering over a Fun

Featured Replies

Heya

Male, 25, West London-ish

Been a Citroen fan most my life however my latest car (DS4 Crossback) has damaged this relationship somewhat. Looking to buy something more fun to drive/own whilst I wait for my PCP to end.

Always liked the VW Golf Caddy Pickup and upon research discovered that it's actually a Skoda (correct me if I'm wrong of course), turns out the Skoda Felicia Fun variants are actually cheaper as well.

Seriously looking into buying one soonish but thought I'd best do some research too. It's lovely to see such a well supported forum with tons of information and knowledge being passed around. I have already learnt of many inherent problems and things to look for when purchasing but will continue to peruse this forum thoroughly.

My dad is a mechanic so I have lived around cars all my life and have always wanted to have something to love, tinker with and call my own. Despite working as a fitter at a large aerospace company (which gives me reasonalbe engineering understand/comprehension), I have sadly never had the opportunity to really learn about and tinker with cars. The Felicia Fun looks like a reasonable car to begin with, with tons of knowledge and parts available. I have access to many tools and know people who can help with all sorts of jobs, but you guys know best.

Would you guys agree that it's a good car for a beginner to start with?

Thanks

Toby :D

Watch for rust on them as I am a fun owner as for running gear wise I have had many skoda felicias and not one has broken down and they do crash well
