What is the coding to get wipers to park?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

On my previous car, the wipers would park if the engine was turned off in the middle of a swipe.

Currently, on my car, they stop right where they are, which kinda sucks.

Anyone knows how sort this via VCDS/OBDeleven?

I would like to know this as well. All my other VW's and Audi's have parked when the engine was off. Really annoying that my Superb doesn't do it.

Not sure if this is what you mean

No, thats the service position to change the wipers blades.

What we want is for the wipers to return to the bottom on the windscreen if they are currently in motion when the ignition is turned off and not just stop where they are like in the 90's

Or you could just turn the ignition off when they are at bottom of screen.

Passenger mirror dip returns to its initial position when you turn the engine off, not sure why the wipers are not coded the same.

Well... Following the link posted earlier, I have now sorted mine and they park as they should ;)

What a stupid thing to not enable by default. I cannot think of a single reason why anyone would not want these to park by default.

They do it on purpose so when you get in a VW or an Audi you see where the extra cash has been spent. haha :D

Probably the same reason why they don't have the cruise control display on the maxidot enabled from the factory amongst other things

Resurrecting an old thread I know, but...

I am very grateful that all of you submit your differing views. If I had only tried one solution I wouldn't have diagnosed my issue. It was only after trying all of the above that my wiper arm fell off and I realised that the issue was a loose bolt.
