Tyre pressure

Featured Replies

Had a search but can't find much info on tyre pressures for 17" wheels (not sure on tyre size either and I'm stuck on a train at the moment so can't check)

On my way to work the 'bing' thing went off and it said loss of pressure in front right tyre... Off to the air machine I went and because I was unsure of what pressure to put in it I checked the other tyres first. All 3 were at 38psi which imo seems high, the tyre with loss of pressure was at 34.

So I set them all at 38psi and continued.

Anyone know the correct pressure? Estate business with 17" Helios wheels. I have a sneaky feeling the dealer set them slightly high so the tyres wear quicker in the middle and you need to buy new tyres from them...

The tyre pressures are on a sticker (behind the ice scraper) on the inside of the few flap, you will also find multiple pressures there depending on the usual weight in the car (passengers / luggage)

Im 17's.. I run them at 39psi all round. I have found that's the best pressure feeling for the car for me.

Any less and it feels a bit too soft.

38Psi is not going to wear the middle out... 50Psi yes... Any less and you may expect a lot more shoulder wear.

Thanks for the replys guys. I thought it was odd as I've only ever ran 30 or 32psi in previous cars.

Have to admit, it does feel ok. Will check out what it says behind the ice scraper later, thanks.
