Headlamp washers stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new to the vRS. I have a 2007 with Xenon headlamps. I went out today and my headlamp washers aren't working. I thought it might be low fluid so I filled the washer resevoir up but this hasn't fixed  it.

I looked under the bonnet and found that the near-side hose is attached to the washer. I followed it as far as I can and there's no real sign of leakage (There's a little water in the round circle behind the driver side headlamp but it doesn't look like enough to be a washer leak (I imagine I woudl have water everywhere.)

Access to thhose on the driver's side is restricted. WHat is the best way to get to it please? Removing the headlamp? Hany hints for testing the pump or unblocking the washer hose?

Is it the same pump for the headlamp washers as the windscreen washers or does the headlamp wash have its own? The windscreen washers are working.

Thanks,

Paul.

Are you testing them with the lights switched on?

Not trying to sound condesending but you know they only work every 5 pulls of the windscreen washers?

Thank you.

It turns out that I am indeed a bit of a bell***

I hadn't clocked it but, when I tested all this stuff at the dealer, the lights were on.

I didn't know about the 5 pulls thing either. I'd read the book but missed that. It's a lot to take in. You weren't condescending at all.
