Attended a huge "cruise" last night

Featured Replies

Well, sad as it may seem at my age (34), I went along with some Blackpool cruisers to Stockport last night, to a huge cruise. Just went for the experience you understand. :o

Anyway, by the time all the regions cruise clubs had arrived, there were easily 200+ cars there, of varying shapes, taste, and type. I can proudly announce, I was the only Skoda there. So, good news guys. There were the predictable sights of huge boot installs, neons galore, many scoobies, evo's, and even a new Ferrari 430  , who tried doing a few donuts, but his esp thought otherwise from the looks of it.

Apart from the crowd pleasers doing burnouts and donuts, it was a blimmin cold, and otherwise pointless use of a shopping center car park if you ask me, but maybe i'm missing the point of it, or worse still, too old. Still, I've been to one now, and know I don't need to bother again.

There were a few vag cars there though, alot of Seats, and a few VW golfs/Polos too.

Where in Stockport?

I'm a local and I've never seen any cruise action round 'ere...

 Really?

Could never avoid 'em...McD's at Grand Central on a Thursday night was a one meeting point (I believe).

Ah, Handforth...

Rob.

Oh great, more places I have to try and avoid of a Thurs night

I knew about Grand Central, but now they've moved into the nice bits round Stockport too! I know they have quite viscious speed ramps as you come into JL/Sainsburys passing the petrol station, but obviously not annoying enough!

The 430 guy obviously didn't feel brave enough to turn his steering wheel dial from road to track, or even the no ESP setting - then you would have seen some smoke and donughts

Like you say, at least you've been to one. Like the one I went to in Warrington a few years ago :o

Steve

i went to blackpool but shifty wasnt there.

you should try walkabout shifty it was full of much more interesting things than cruise......

I went to a cruise in Stockport years ago (probably 6ish) when cruises were just getting started... It was absolutely huge; hundreds of cars and it was even on the 1'O Clock National BBC News the next day.

Not my cup of tea really... Dangerous driving galore and lots of charvas!

Some nice cars though, I suppose, and lots of boobs!

Well Cheadle Royal. :D Handforth is the one further down the bypass with M&S and Tesco.

I've seen the odd chavved up Corsa at McD's but they're ten a penny cause of the college. There was a "gathering" I drove past round the corner from me at Morrisons a few years back. The police arrived within 15 minutes and broke it up. I must lead a sheltered life. New years resolution - drive around more!

One of my relatives is into driving along to McDs and meeting a load of scallies in cars that look like like Xmas trees. As someone who does like cars, I just really cannot see the point....

I assume the idea is to make themselves look attractive to scalliettes

What do you want Shifty a medal ??;)

I had a car night last night, which included, one HUGE private road, and me and my mates battling it out, used half a tank of fuel, great fun, poor tyres :(
