Carpets

Featured Replies

I gave the inside its first really proper clean at the weekend. Personally I find the carpets a bit of a nightmare to hoover. Stuff seems to get trapped in the fibres and won't come out.

The most annoying bit was trying to hoover between the front seat rails and the plastic trims on the door sills. The gap is slightly too narrow to fit the wand tool into but still wide enough to collect loads of dust. Anyone have any tips for getting to these areas? I'm thinking along the lines of an improvised tool for the hoover.

Lol ! Let me know when you've solved this one....

Could you get a thin (paint) brush in there and then hoover up what you brush out.

Suck it out with a straw? :D

A thin piece of hose adapted* to the end of the vacuum cleaner is the way to go with this one. I have a piece of 1/2" braided hose that can squeeze into the gap to suck out the detritus.

* wrapped in Gorilla tape until air tight.

I taped a thin piece of card around the end of my wand tool, tapering it to a thin enough point to fit between seat and rail. The gap seems really narrow on the drivers side but the passenger side is fine.

Personally, I don't like using vacuum cleaners.....I think they suck!

Sounds like it would be right up your alley!
