Anyone fitted 235/40r18's on golds rims?

Featured Replies

As title really... Anyone fitted 235's instead of the OEM 225's?

If so, any issues?

Thanks,

Steve.

You should check the tyres you want to fit versus the originals using a site like www.willtheyfit.com/

It will show you the difference in Rolling radius (thus speed error) and also any changes in clearance to the suspension or outer edge.

You should also check the rules in the UK because in some countries in Europe, this size is not TUV approved (at least I dont remember it on the list when I was buying winter tyres) & so would constitute a MOT failure.

As far as I know TUV doesn't apply atm in the UK

Thats why I said check the rules in the UK to see if you can fit non-standard tyre sizes.

In switzerland for example, you must have a certificate with your wheels & tyres to show that the size you have are approved (if they are non-OEM).

If not, its a failure when you car is tested.

Its the same reason tyre websites ask for your car détails before you can buy tyres from them because they are liable for providing the correct specification to customers.
