Adverts on Youtube....

Featured Replies

Annoying or what? Any recommendations for similar sites without the ads please.

Watching tweenies videos and stuff with my son (16months) and you get ads for mortgages and pensions and suvs every 10mins.. utter targetted audience pita advertising

Simply install an adblock extension to your browser and they are gone :)

Read the context mate; these arent ads around the video screen, these are ads played ON the video screen before, during and after whatever you are trying to watch. On top of which, many people watch via a smart TV, so no option to add a blocker.

To be fair, you can skip them (usually) after the first 3 seconds have been played - although I had one last night that didnt have the "Skip" option; luckily it was one of the shorter ones; I have seen some ads that go on for several minutes!!

Ad block on chrome also blocks the adverts shown at the beginning and throughout the video.

+1 for adblock. I don't get adverts in YouTube videos with this enabled.

Price of a free lunch.

Adblock deals with them on the PC but if you're using a You Tube app on a tablet you're a bit stuffed.

Another unskipable ad on YT tonight, for ladies sanitary products - JUST what my 3 y/o wanted to see.

Probably skateboarding, rock climbing and parachuting if the adverts are anything to go by

Very little myself, mostly it is childrens programs in English and Mandarin for my daughter, and Chinese soap opera for SWMBO; although my 3 y/o also likes space rockets, so we watch the odd 1/2 hour of rocket launches every now and then.

North korean test launches tend to be entertaining..

Sadly, my daughter is smart enough to tell the difference between real launches/ high spend gix, and the cardboard tube stuffed with fire crackers that the NK use in their propaganda films FFS, they recently used PAPER AEROPLANES to show how they would attack and defeat the SK airforce.

I for one am terrified at the technological might of the mighty North Korea

No one was ever sure if it was for real, or a SK joke, but there was a supposed news report from NK proudly stating that they had "landed a man on the sun" a few years back.

The problem with NK is, their leaders are so mad, it is impossible to tell what is genuine madness and what is a SK wind-up story - Execution by mortar barrage anyone?? Also reported a few years ago.
