First Pics Of My Superb - Kw Variant 1 Coilovers And Sat Nav Fitted!!

Featured Replies

Right then, I have owned the car for about 3 months now and I haven't posted any pics because I have been busy doing little mods and now I have just completed a large mod to the suspension, I think that it is worthy of being shown, I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea but I am hoping that you guys will have some comments to post up on a fellow Skoda?

It was very wierd driving around in the Superb at the beginning as it's a completly different car to the Bora that I owned before but I am enjoying the car more and more each day; the engine is brilliant and the space and comfort makes every journey so much more enjoyable.

So here are some pics that I took today:

Lowered on KW Variant 1 Coilovers:

(Not too sure how much it has lowered it by but around 35mm on the rear and 45mm on the front?)

For the future I am planning an AMD one click Remap, tints for the Summer and some 19's (when I can decide which ones I like).

So what do you think?

Any comments welcome whether they be good or bad, I can take it, LOL!!

Hmm I do like superbs. And yours is even more superb than superb :thumbup:

In one word.... Wow!!! Very very nice car love the mods so far

Only one single thing im not keen on is the badges on bumpers... other than that love it. Nice colour too.

Top job mate the car looks great, it has a sporty/Audi type stance to it:thumbup:

Ive looked at the Superb many times in the showroom and always fancied one but just dont have an excuse for a car that size.

Looks great, the drop suits it. I'd stick with those wheels myself, I don't think getting bigger wheels would suit the car personally.

Steve

Look's fantastic -- how's it ride on the KW's ???

So tints & Alloys for Summer eh ???

Here's a little teaser for you -- why wait till summer

looks very nice dude it sits very well now i bet passat man next door but one is a bit gutted, i like that colour in the superb was looking at one in the stealers the other week, had to come away before i did anything the missus might kill me for

Really, really smart

If you stuck 19s on it....there would be drool seeping out of my mouth onto the floor. I agree about the Audi stance- a bit S8-ish.

Lovely car - LUSH!

A few comments from me would be firstly that I wouldn't even consider 19" alloys. I'd want 17" or 18" at a push. Would still look awesome ;)

I too am not sure about the badges on the bumpers, and the colour is not one I'd choose, but I still love the car as a whole, and the interior looks a very nice place to be.

I have done a few miles in the back of a Superb PD130 - how do you find the noise levels? As comfy as they are, I find the exhaust/engine note very boomy compared to my vRS.

Keep up the good work, top job.

looks good mate but i'd keep them wheels as they suit it very well

Are they badges on the bumpers at the corners then?

Car looks great, its a shame mine is a work horse and i drive it into the ground, as it is truly a car to cherish.

First of all guys, I would like to say a massive thank you for all your comments, I haven't been on here long and it's great to see that people appreciate what can be done with one of the bigger Skoda's, I am genuinely really shocked by people's views, I didn't expect people to like it that much, LOL!!

tfboy - More Superb than Superb? That could be Skoda new marketing slogan, thanks mate!!

Fabia 12v - The little black badges that you talk about in the bumpers are Hella LED Side Markers, I have fitted them to every car I have owned for safety and as IMO they look great at night but then they aren't everyone's cup fo tea. Thanks for your praise though mate.

Chris.G - I think that your hit the nail on the head their mate, I think it's looks very A6ish with the stance on the floor.

Wardy - I am worried about 19's but I had 18's on my Bora on a 35mm drop and I didn't think the drop was enough and the wheels weren't big enough? I gues it's going to be trial and error?

skodaw - You can't post that up!!! You will give me bank manager a heart attack if I spend all my money getting that done!! Trouble is mate, that is exactually the look I want, I am thinking of more ASA or BBS alloys though, what are those? That's a top photo shop though, thanks a lot for that, you have given me some ideas now!!

johnny05 - Needless to say mate the guy next door was shocked how much I had dropped it and now he is chatting to his Mrs about some wheels and suspension for his Passat, LOL!!

Dave_Fox - Your not the only one that would be drooling mate, give me some time and I may wellbe drooling myself in the future, LOL!!

Tom_vRS - I hear what your saying about 19's mate, I love the look of the car as it is on the OEM Solid's and I am impressed with how it looks, maybe 18's with a low profile tyre would suit it? Again the Side Markers aren't liked by a lot of people but I love them. As for the noise in the back of the Superb, I am not too sure about that, haven't spent much time in the back but I will give it a try, maybe I should get a driver, let's face it the car is big enough!!

bengie - For the moment the wheels stay on but in the Spring I think I will see what's on the market for show season!!

SJFISHER67 - I know what you mean about a work horse mate, mine is my work car and the Bora I had before went to a lot of shows but with the mileage I did for work it's hard to get it looking so good all the time!!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENTS, PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING, I AM OPEN TO NEXT MOD SUGGESTIONS.

Another peice of photoshoppery(?) they are the wheels from the new Octy vRS enlarged slightly and played around with to try and get the perspective right.

Glad you like it

When I say noise in the back - I mean noise in general! I just find it boomy, thats all.

I really want to know more about the side markers now... Is there a guide being made? ;)

That's a really smart car and I like the mods to date. :D

In all fairness I am probably not the best person to ask about it being loud as my Bora before this was stupidly loud with my custom exhaust on it. I find the Superb very quiet at both low speed and high speeds and haven't noticed anything 'boomy' about it?

What do you mean a guide? Fitment Guide?

(I will have to see what I can dig out at work and let you know.)

Looking great!

Once the weather settles I'll email you a decent pic with my little "mods" on my superb ;)

Looks ace! i like it alot:)

astu - Look forward to seeing some pics then mate.

L-Y-K - Thanks mate, much appreicated.

Oh right... i thought they were 'Elegance' badges that are usually above side repeaters and you had moved them down there. Fair play if they are markers.. good idea

I do like the look of superbs, my dad's had a few in sahara beige but always with the black leather (currently has an Octy II in those colours until the new vRS arrives in March).

What engine have you got, my old man always has the v6 2.5 tdi auto which is fairly good (apart from the 'box which is no match for DSG) but I do wonder what it would be like with a remapped 1.9 130 in it!

  • Author

Fabia 12v - I don't even know what the Elegence badges look like, LOL, they are side markers mate, I will post up some close up pics if you want a closer look at the lamps?

delroy - I would have loved the black leather interior but buying second hand meant that I didn't have much choice, bummer. It's a PD TDI 130 and I have to say that I am very happy with it, I think it's pretty quick so I am sure that the 2.5 V6 must be a rocket?

I have the black leather in my Superb 130Tdi and let me tell you, it's no fun in this weather. Even with the seat heaters (which are a god send) the leather freezes your rear off first the first 5 mins. No doubt in summer I will stick to them too. As you can see, I'm not fully convinced about the leather other than it looking fantastic. I used to have a Rover 800 Vitesse with half leather Recaros, they were excellent, cloth where it was needed, leather where it looked cool!

That's gorgeous - keep us updated with pics as the mods keep coming!

Sam - I sat in a Edition 100 at the dealers and I loved it, I wasn't keen on some of the trim combinations but I loved the leather. My house mate has a Saab 93 Sport 2.2TDI and I have been using that all Xmas as she has been away, it has leather seats and I have to agree that in the winter it's seriously cold. My mum has a StreetKa with Leather and I had that in the Summer and that was a serious butt burner so I like my cloth seats, just comes across as being cheap!!

LittlePaul - Thanks mate, I have some more on order from the dealer so watch this space.

Thanks for your comments.
