I've changed the fuse and they sit don't work:mad: , Thre cars just been in for a service, could there be a lead been pulled off:confused: , disturbed, or a trip back to the stealers:mad:

This may be a stupid question, but have you checked the bulbs?

It's not uncommon for both bulbs to blow in a set as they are used as much as each other.

There's going to be a switch somewhere.

Thats worth checking

Andy

I can't imagine why they would heve been anywhere near the rear lights. If you have a multimeter you could test for 12v at the plug.

Also ensure you have no other fuses blown - I can't be sure that the layout you used is exactly the same for all cars.

I dont think the fuse layout is the same, Reversing lights fuse 13 on the diagram it shows fuse 14 Empty, on the wifes car fuse 14 has a fuse in it.10A if you remove it the car will not start I removed fuse 14 and put it in fuse 13,s place to see if the reversing lights worked, they didn't so I put fuse 13 in were 14 goes and the car started so it can't be the fuse ....................Did that make sense??

If you look at the book and then the fuse board, arn't they reversed for RHD by the look of the board design??? It was either the Fabai or Mk1 Octavia that had this so I am not too sure.

Maybe Roo.............The layout of the board is the same, same shape as the picture but the wifes car has fuses in places where Mikes guide show "empty "fuses.............................PS.free dougnut for anyone getting it right

oooooohhhhhhhh Donuts!!

You should be able to look at each fuse and see if it's ruptured. Just a process of illimination - not Illumination :P

OK..........I assume a blown fuse will be black looking...........There like 2 triangula prongs that just clip in.........mmmmmmmmmmmmm....sugary donuts...yummy

No, the blown fuse will look blown only when its out. If you look through any of them, you'll see a small loop of metal, the blown one will be broken. It will be obvious when you see it after you've taken it out.

Cheers Moose..will check them all tommorow.(ssshhhhhhh......Looks like your in line for a dougnut........Don't tell the others:P )

Isn't there a fuse board guide on the back of the cover you remove to get to it? (might be wrong as I don't even know where the fuse board is on a fabia!) :o

You can normally check them without removing them. Just look along the top of them and you should see if the conductor is broken.

Not on the Fabia, no. And its at the end of the dashboard nearest to the drivers door.

Its a bit hard with the ones nearest the door, even I'm not that small

On a left hand drive Fabia "is the fuse box in the same place or is it next to the the steering wheel".................................Just Wondered

Yes, that is why I think the Fuses are reversed on RHD models. I had this when I blew a fuse in my Fabia, which is why I think the places are reversed as it is a different shape too.

Cheers Roo............Looks like you just tipped Moose to the Dougnut I'll check in the morning and maybe phone the Dealers........I'll report back the finding for future reference to other members....Andy

There should be a reverse light switch either on the gearbox or at the gearlever base - when it went for a service they might have knocked 1 (you never know)

OOOOOOOOHHHH DOUGHNUTS..............................

Just been onto the Dealers and it looks like it reversing lights need a new switch on the gear box. Looks like it may be a problem with the switch.......................Looks like the Dealers won the Doughnut

Good 'ol FR Pulleyn ey Andy
