Where did you get them eventually.  Ingrams are doing my nut in over these.  I only asked if they could send to the local branch rather than me going to Ayr, but now no one knows where they are.

Cheers

I purchased some 6.4x10.0mm blind rivets and they held the inner panel but the panel was not as tight to the door frame as before.

After a bit more digging - it looks like the OEM pop rivets are special's, when fitted (my purchase) they did not squeeze up like the OEM ones - if you look at the pictures you will see the difference between a ordinary blind pop rivet and the OEM blind pop rivet (there are section removed) this allows the rivet when sqeezed to look like a squeezed concertina (music instrument)

The annoying thing is that the OEM rivet is made in Great Britain and I cannot find where or who the firm are that make them.

I'd just email [email protected] with that N91078801 part number and ask Michael to send me some, if I were after them. Easy-peasy and not that pricey really, as far as I remember. Obviously they could be had cheaper if one found the manufacturer/distributer, but you'd probably then have to buy 100 or 1000 from them so it wouldn't really save anthing unless you got into re-selling the leftovers.

These  pop rivets N91078801 also fit the following vehicle:

Vw Transporter @ 50p + vat

Audi TTRs @ 52p + vat

SilburySkoda @ 48p + vat

Bought some from my local Skoda agent qty 20 - £12.00 Inc. vat now I can refit my steel inner door panel.

Well what a waste of space these rivets are - the holes within the door are 10mm diameter, the OD of the pop rivet is 6.4mm. The hole is too big to retain the rivet in the correct positions - its hit and miss whether the rivet holds the inner panel in the correct position.

Going to source some peel rivets -these will hold the panel in the correct position.

Have you thought about using Rivet nuts and bolts to ease removal if the panel needs to come off again.

I have, the strength would be greater using rivets rather than a set screw into a rivet nut - torque loading on a M6 set screw would be approx. be 10Nm and 25Nm for a M8 set screw.
