Diesel Particle Filter

Featured Replies

Looking through my handbook it mentions a Diesel Particle Filter and a code of 7GG appearing on the vehicle data sticker if it is installed. My vehicle data sticker quotes 0GG which presumably means that one in not installed on my 2.0 TDI. Was this an option? I don't remember seeing it - can anyone shed more light on this?

It's standard on the 1.9 and 2.0TDi engines within Europe. The 1.9 Golf gets away without one though because of its lower emissions on account of it being lighter than the OctyII. Maybe the codes have been adjusted.

Why worry anyway, you've got your car and it had to comply with the legislation in place at the time it was manufactured. If Skoda have found a way around avoiding fitting a particulate filter then great. I mean particulate filters have a lifespan and you don't want to fork out out for a new one if you plan to hold on to the car for along time.
