Hello,

 

Could You please suggest me some DIY solution to add some oil to the drivers door lock, because the central locking system is not able to open it(nor the button inside the cabin between the two front seats to lock/open the doors), and I should always use a key. All the other door lockings are working fine, but this, therefore I think the problem is just a bit tighten lock.

Could be a break in wires where they go into the door, quite common I believe.

Oh, thanks. To check it I should remove the lock or the door inside?

Have you checked the fuse?

All the other lock works fine, but the drivers door lock. Does it have a separate fuse?

Think there is only one fuse, does the button next to the hand brake work for locking and unlocking the other doors?

The button can close all doors, but not able to open the drivers door lock, similar problem with the remote controller

I would go with Anddenton's advice and check the wires at the end of the door ( you will need to remove the rubber cover, near the hinges to see if any of the wires are broken)

Just one thing I still dont understand, maybe it is just my misunderstanding, but if the wire is broken then why can I open all doors lock when I open the drivers lock with a key? 

 

So as I imagine there is a cable in the door to the drivers lock and it is used to send a sign to a lock to open itself when I push the button (in the remote controller, or the button next to the hand break), and when I open the doors lock with a key then the same cable is used to send a sign to the other door lock to open itself. Therefore I dont understand how can a cable working in one direction, but not in both direction. Or there are two separate cables, maybe

sounds like faulty door lock module then, these threads may help you as the part will be similar but access will be from the inside the rivet  panel after moving the interior door tirm

i HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SOLENOID ON THE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK

i HAD A LOAD OF PROBLEMS IN THE DRIVERS DOOR, CENTRAL LOCKING, ELECTRIC MIRRORS, SO I BOUGHT THE WHOLE LOT, WIRING LOOM £30 (FROM EXPERIENCE BROKEN WIRES AT THE EDGE OF THE DOOR IS COMMON)
ONCE FITTED, i FITTED THE WINDOW MOTOR WITHOUT TOUCHING THE DOOR LOCK, HEY PRESTO, EVERYTHING WORKED, STILL UNSURE BUT GUT FEELING IT WAS THE WIRING LOOM

I return to this topic because the same problem (the door lock is not opening remotely, but could not see any damage of the cables) exists and a new one happened. Sometimes all the speakers of the left front door is fall silent. It is temporary and sometimes comes back and work again. I'm afraid I have to change the wires of the door. Could you please help me and provide some material to change the cable manually. How to remove the door cover, replace the cable. I did some search at http://workshop-manuals.com/skoda/octavia-mk2 but was not able to find how to remove, and to identify the able (or a bunch of cables) to order it.

Have you pulled back the door to pillar rubber boot and checked for broken or damaged wires?

yes i did and i could not find any broken wire. And the majority of time the speaker is working (the lock doesnt). Thereforr i guess it could be a contact issue in the wire and would like to replace them to a new one.

My front passenger door speaker occasionally fails to work, but I can bring it back on by turning up the sound volume for a few seconds. Once done it will work again for many months.

It suggests that it is a contact problem in a connector, as you commented. The extra current or the vibration from louder music is enough to restore connection. Try it.

It might be an idea to disconnect and reconnect the connector in the A pillar to wipe the contacts.

 

Try wiggling the connector and wires going to the connector while the radio is on, see if it affects the speaker.
