Really like the back end - looks like a more muscular Q5 - but the front as you say looks to be a bit bleurgh. I hope the production one is similar to the Superb, which is basically the Octavia grille with a vajazzle. I've never been fond of the 'lump of matt black plastic' look if I'm being honest.

Overall shape is nice though and looks to be a lot of headroom in the back.

I love the way these test mules always look like a few of us have got together for ten pints and then decided to panel-beat a block of mild steel into the shape of a car on the way home.

Vajazzle? A blingled up vagina?

Alright then, a grajazzle.

Don't know if it's a vajazzle or a grajazzle but if you look closely you can see the bog standard Skoda nose with a bit of make up for the photographer. Plus of course Skoda sent us all an artist's impression today!,

Why is it riding so low at the back? Looks odd

Erm... it's a mule. So it is loaded to the brim for testing. You will also see them towing very heavy trailers up and down the Alps to test the brakes etc...

For example:

Their artists' impressions always look like they've been done by the bloke who did the 'Take On Me' video.

Stretched Tiguan anyone?

Was hoping for something a little closer to the concept but hey.

I will reserve final judgement until the proper production pics are released but at the moment, hmm...

I was thinking stretched Yeti.

There's something a bit BMW X3 about it in profile.

Only slightly longer and with noticeably bigger boot. I'm sure it will be better looking than X3 as well.

It was the same with the new Superb when the mule pics where released. It didn't look well at all and the angles seemed all wrong but when the actual production model was launched it was a very different story as it had many of the lines they had teased in the earlier concepts.

Looks like Rapid on steroids.

Dunno if anyone's posted this yet, but here's a video of it testing on the 'ring

edit: Obvious thing to say but these lads they send out testing really know how to drive don't they? Imagine throwing that massive thing around a track like that

Loved the initial concept and was definitely interested but seems like every pic ive seen since im getting less and less interested. Will have to see the final product in normal colours etc to make final judgement

There was one at the final stage of the Tour de France in a red disguise. I didn't see it on the tv coverage at all but skoda are posting a video soon on Facebook. Has to be said I know its disguised but the wheel arches are square and the wheels look tiny to me.

I agree. It is more and more looking very boring and fat...  But all concept cars are shown with massive 20" wheels and then the production version comes out with 17" wheels and look terrible...  BUT at least are comfortable whereas the same car on said 20" wheels certainly won't be.

The square arches are offputting to me.
I think I will be heading for a spec'd up VW Tiguan next time.

Not sure how you see them as any different than they were on the concept?

I like it. No, it doesn't look as broad-shouldered as the concept and the rear overhang is more pronounced, and (along with the smaller wheels) that makes it look more like an estate car on stilts than a monster SUV. However it's still a big car and the high roofline at the back suggests that there'll be decent headroom in the rearmost seats, if specced.

The proposed coupe version will be interesting and likely to look a lot cooler, albeit surely it'll only come as a 5 seater.

Unless the coupe comes with Tesla inspired rearward facing 6th and 7th seats! I very much doubt it will though.
