TT Zero - Vague chance of spoiler if you actually care but finishing order not discussed

Featured Replies

7 entries, 5 starters and they could only do one lap at about "lightweight" speeds.

So why bother? And should it actually count as "a TT race"?

I will give them that it's an improvement on year 1, where if McPint had started on the (winning) Zero bike and his superbike simultaneously (and it's not that long since TT starts were 2x2) he'd have been able to lap the Zero bike on the then superbike record schedule.

Its probably just counted as a TT race to keep the interest in it and the technology building up on the machines.

They do reckon its the future, afterall...

It's all in the development stage at the moment, and despite the commentators ripping it to pieces (I reckon they're all just stuck in the petrol age and can't look forwards) it has promise to be more exciting when others get into it with a bit of urgency. Give it time and it'll be better, but it's all gotta start somewhere.

However, telling the rider where the kill switch is and how it works might be an idea...

Sure but that's the thing isn't it? "Formula E" are still doing 2x20 minute sprint races in different cars, a Tesla Model S is still the only electric car that is even close to addressing my range/refuelling time needs.

No-one seems actually close to a quantum leap in accumulator technology. Or indeed meaningful regenerative braking on a 2 wheeler.

Ask them to do 4 laps and I'd expect to beat them on a pit bike!
