I got my NIP today, which says, as I thought 53Mph in a 40 zone. It also hinted that a speed awareness course might be offered. Here's hoping, I don't want to spoil my unblemished licence.

However, 3 points isn't the end of the world. Gotta take the rough with the smooth, and you've had alot of smooth to keep your licence clean for so long i think . 

My Fabia vRS has sold now & I've replaced it with a new Cee'd 4Tech (the all singing, dancing, leather, parks itself one). Not as fast as the vRS or as much fun, but certainly far more comfortable & quiet, & because I don't feel as if I'm in a competition, there is far less tendency to speed.

I was lucky, I was offered a Speed Aware Course, which I was happy to accept.

I've enjoyed my 3 year ownership of the vRS, & the banter on this forum. Especial thanks to George who pointed me in the right direction on several occasions. His knowledge of this marque is legendary & he doesn't need any accolades from me.

I will stop by from time to time just to see what I am missing, although posts regarding the vRS are getting a bit thin on the ground now.

Finally, I must say, this is by far & away the best car forum I have found. Far more intelligent posts & far better than the Kia one.

It is pushing your luck abit too much isnt it, nearly twice the limit .

 

I was lucky that whatever speed device he was using, only measured average speed. He showed me the video in his car & I did reach a speed of 71.4mph briefly. Whether that wasn't admissible as evidence, or he felt in a generous mood, I don't know. Maybe it was the time of day & light traffic. Who knows? But I'm grateful.

I was hoping for a speed awareness course but the "gentleman" who stopped me doubted I would be eligible as I was outside of the guidelines. Have to wait & see.

4.30 in the morning & nothing better to do. It must have annoyed him when he pulled up alongside me at the traffic lights & I beat him away when they changed.

Someone in my car had a race with a white one that came up on them. 

Court appearance and £450 fine and 6 points.

 

 

LOL, no i do not think so.

To get that fine it was given as 86 in a 60 on the A9, and 86 meant a court appearance.

 

Outstanding efforts lads, if you're going to go down, do it in some style. I'm almost certain I'll fall foul of similar at some point, so many unmarked ones running about, spotted a modified Audi A3 the other day on the M74 that turned out to be a police car. Someone in a Focus had clearly fallen foul of them, Audi did sport the giveaway SF at the start of the plate but otherwise would have been difficult to tell.

 

Damned unsporting I say.
