I'm having a problem with the vRS central locking on the mk1 Fabia.

 

The key remote unlocks/locks every other door including the boot apart from from drivers door, I'm having to lock and unlock it with the key

 

has anyone else had a similar problem or a solution?

 

any help would be very appreciate. Its driving me insane. 

 

 

New lock motor required by the sound of it.

You might get lucky and find one in a scrapyard or on eBay. Otherwise it's going to be a trip to your local Škoda dealer. I agree with the last comment that it's more than likely a failed central locking motor in the door.

Be careful and and only buy the unit that is the same model number as the unit fitted. You might have to remove the locking unit (a bugger of a job) to check before hand.

i have just bought a 2006 Fabia 1.2 HTP, i have both keys which are NOT remote central locking keys. The issue i have is that when i unlock the drivers door with the key none of the other doors unlock at the same time, I can use the inside handle to unlock them individually but its a bit inconvenient. Do I have a fault or is this how it is? cheers

It might be coded to selective unlock the doors. You will need a VAG-COM interface to recode the central locking module. It's an easy job. If you unlock the car and then press the unlock button from the driver's door, do the other doors & the boot unlock ?

 

This is the coding sequence: 

 

SINGLE DOOR UNLOCK

46 – Cent Convenience
07 - Recode
 

The single door unlock give an even number i.e 00064.  To make all the doors unlock with one press, just add 1 i.e. 00065
