Is TA only available on VW vehicles?

Has anyone tried to activate Trailer Assist on their Superb? I´m getting a towbar fitted later this week, and this would be a nice bonus. However, it seems like it requires PLA to work?

Excuse my ignorance, but what is PLA?

I’m horrified to discover there’s yet another toy my car does not have.

 

I’ve searched the German forum (don’t have a problem with the language) a bit but have so far not found how to set this up. Anyone here?

 

PLA = German ‘Parklenkassistent’ – i.e. ‘park steering assist’ or commonly just ‘park assist’ in English

So now both kodiaq and the octavia has got the trailer assist. When Will this be available for the superb?? Also no Skoda connect or the new infotainment systems on the superb.. should be a upgrade soon? Maybe in MY2018? 

It has been retrofitted in DK on both a B8 and a 5E, so it should be possible on 3V as well. Requires PLA and RCV High to work.

You must have 5Q0980568 RVC, i have ordered it.

and then you must program with VCP

 

Coding happens like this:

STG 10 > Byte 00 > enable Bit 3
STG 17 > Byte 12 > enable Bit 5
STG 6C > Byte 10 > enable Bit 3
STG 5F > Adaption > …
> channel "Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_trailer_assistant_after_disclaimer" > set to "enabled"

Correct. Unfortunately my car doesn´t have PLA, the other hardware is there. Fortunately I´m good at reversing with trailers, so it only hurts my inner "gadget freak"

Interested in enabling this, will this do the job?

Yes, will see. I have ordered the new camera, I have tested all the other things, and it’s looking promising.
