State of charge indication on dash.

Featured Replies

My Octavia 3 SE L  2.0TDi DSG has a State of charge indication on the dash when you press the reset button with the ignition off and cycle through the time reset distance reset - it shows charge of - - %.

Had a quick warranty job today (12 volt charger sockets not working (blown fuse)) I mentioned this to the dealer and when he handed the car back he said the battery charge was OK and the State of Charge indicator would only show anything different when the battery needed replacing!!!!

I smell bull sh one t here but am unsure of my ground. Help please?

It takes a while for the SOC to start showing the percentage when the car is new, but after a few hundred miles it should show the SOC, usually sits around 80% mark. So yes, the dealer shovelled out the BS

Mine is still showing --% after nearly 4000 miles. :-(

Mine is 7k from new and SoC is --%.

4000 miles and mine is showing --%

Mine had always shown the status typically 80%. Apart from the time I flattened the battery....

Does it work on any MY16 cars (since June 2015)? Or is there something else in common amongst the cars it's not working on?

I suspect there has been a change given that numerous members are getting different results. Could be a software thing, or maybe Skoda redesigned the battery control module.
