I have recently took delivery of an octavia 3 VRS and one of the extras I opted for was to upgrade to the columbus Satnav, which is great however I am unable to connect/use the Skoda apps.  

 

I have Wifi on and tethered to my phone, and data transfer allowance on but the apps won't connect. 

 

I have even connected the phone via the USB and still the apps won't connect ? 

 

Does anyone have any ideas? or do I need to get back in touch with the garage?

 

 

I believe you need 'SmartGate' to connect the apps to the car.

Anyone know if smartgate can be activated by obdeleven?

Can smartgate be activated easily or does it require a physical module to be added to the headhunt to receive data transfers?

If I'm not getting confused with all the smartthings (smartgate, smartlink etcs), I think SmartGate requires a separate module located under the drivers seat.

 

Search the forum for a SmartGate threads because I'm pretty sure someone fitted it themselves (AndyVee maybe??)
