Hill Hold and LED colours

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've just swapped in my '14 Octavia for a new Superb L&K, and I'm having a great time playing with all the bits and bobs and browsing the posts in this forum.    I do have a couple of questions though:

1. My Octavia had a feature I really liked, which I think was called Hill Hold (but I could be mistaken).  Basically, if I stopped on a hill the Octavia would keep the brakes on for a few seconds after releasing the pedal to prevent roll-back.  My Superb doesn't seem to have this and I can't spot a reference to it in the manual.  Can I enable it somehow?

2. I thought I saw a post where someone mentioned being able to change the colour of the button LEDs (with VCDS, I think).  Is this possible, or have I made it up?  I'd like the buttons to be white rather than orange.

3. Finally, has anyone else had an issue where their glovebox isn't quite flush when shut?  Picture attached.  If it's normal, then fine, otherwise a trip to the dealer.

Cheers,

Chris

Welcome along and hope you're enjoying the Superb.

1. Auto Hold is standard across the range - try the button to the left of the electronic hand brake. That should be illuminated orange.

2. Can't change the colour of the buttons but with VCDS you may be able to disable the lights, thereby it shows nothing.

3. Some owners may have had this issue, but I haven't.

There are at least 2 threads on here about the standard auto hold vs the optional hill hold.....for the life of me I'm still not sure what the hill hold would add! All I know is that with my manual with the auto hold on I never need to touch the hand brake.....and it holds on hills!

I had my glovebox replaced last week because of poor fit and the fact it rattled like a bast....

All is silent again.

I have had my glovebox lid adjusted due to poor fit similar to your picture. It is not perfect in my opinion it is due to the latch design.

Gah!  I've no idea how I missed that button -- probably because I'm used to it just working in the Octavia, I was hunting in the menus for an option.

I'm certainly loving the car!  Even better than the Octavia and with all the options that, in hindsight, I wish I'd spec'd on that.

A few very minor niggles with the software, is all.

I have the same issue with the glovebox on my Superb & wife's Octavia. Definitely a design flaw/quality issue
