Silly question?

Featured Replies

I'm currently looking to swap to a CitiGo/Mii or Up. Now I've had a couple of little test drives, I like the cars and they go well enough. One thing I have noticed is that for me to get into a comfortable driving position the steering wheel obscures a fair portion of the speedometer. Does anyone else notice this or does the speed appear in the digital portion anyway? I never checked,

the steering wheel is adjustable in an up and down direction ( not forward and back) this solves the problem for me .

Cheers, I was aware of that. But does the digital display portion of the instrument panel displace current speed in MPH??

I think it does if there is a trip computer, but its also on the satnav if you wanted it there.

On our Citigo, with trip computer it does display the speed, and yes i found in some positions the top of the dial is obscured.

Cheers, my thoughts were I don't really mind if the speedo is slightly obscured so long as I have view of the digital bit for speed.

I have looked at my citigo manual and the little display below the speedo does not show the speed. If you want a digital speed display you need to get one of the elegance models which have a PID  which can show speed

To get the digital readout at the bottom of the speedometer you need the trip computer; this comes in a bundle with parking sensors and cruise control that is optional on SE, Elegance, Monte Carlo and the new Colour Edition - only the Sport had the trip computer as standard. Any Citigo is prepared for PID, which also shows your speed - PID is standard on all Elegance, Black and Colour Edition models.

Ah right, cheers for that bit of info, at least I know what I'm looking for now. Started to look at the Citigo/Up and not  sure if I can stretch to a new/nearly new or I will get something with a few miles on. I think I've only ever seen one with cruise control so I would imagine it's not a particularly common/popular option.

Standard on Move Up trim from 2012. So there'll be more around that are younger.

Been sniffing around a little, in the hope that with the face lifted Up being imminent there may some deals to be had with regards to old stock. After a quick ring round a couple of local dealers already have discounts in addition to those that are already being advertised. (currently they are knocking £900 off)  A "stock" pre-reg zero-miles, Club-Up with a total £2K off the sticker price caught my eye, which is a pretty good saving. If you aren't too fussed about colour and they have something in-stock that suits that is a pretty good saving. I am tempted but as I'm a tight git, my thoughts are the Up is overpriced to begin with and the outgoing model will take a little hit on price due to the new model hitting the streets. Fingers crossed Skoda do the same, as I assume the face-lift with filter through to those at some point. Having said all that if I can drop on a pre-reg or ex-demo at decent money I would snap possibly go that way.
