Clutch slipping :-/

Featured Replies

As per title clutch is slipping in 4th and 6th about 2.5k - 4k

Been looking at prices and parts needed for the swap looks like it's a dear job :-/

Any one had this before?

Mines a 08reg petrol vrs with 90k on clock was remapped in October last year

Looking at a sach clutch kit about £300 seen a few posts about the DMF needing changing how will I know if it does?

Cheers

Might as well change them both at the same time as a lot of cost is labour anyway, especially when the car has 90k.

So how much extra is the the DMF

It's worth budgeting for a DMF but get the garage to inspect it first. But with 90k on the clock it's probably going to need changing in the not too distant future so may as well be now while the gearbox is out.

Have you looked on Euro Car Parts? They often have good prices with deals and sales promotions to get more off.

Plus go through Quidco and you will get an additional 7.5% off if you order for delivery (free).

There's a good VW specialising garage up at Nether Poppleton industrial estate. They will let you supply your own parts if you can get them cheaper:

Cheers Phil!

So looks like it's a fly wheel too then :(

Gutted really as this is the first thing I have really had to spend money on :-/

Make sure the new clutch will accept the remapped power.

I bought a oem clutch and it lasted 12k.
