CR 105 Engine... talk to me...

Featured Replies

Looking at Monte Carlos fitted with the 1.6 CR engine, id prefer the 105 to 75 but either will do for me.

What typically gets done to them modification wise?

What are they like to work on, servicing, timing belt, turbo change etc?

Any weak points to look at?

Do people typically remove / remap the DPF filter out or?

Same engine just a different map on ecu

I'm currently looking for a 1.6 tdi. 75 or 105. They both map upto 150ish.

From what I've seen egr valves seem to be prone failure and are a nightmare. Darkside do a delete kit. This is what I'll be doing first remap and egr delete. Then if dpf gives any trouble gutted and mapped to suit.

Yeah, thats pretty much my plans.

Maybe performance exhaust, Turbo, FMIC, Injectors? to suit... Want aprox 220bhp which is easily achievable with my current older 1.9 PD engine.

I think there's a couple about with approx 200hp ish. Derv tech have done a few ibizas and caddys I think.

Mine will be a family bus so I'll be stopping at egr, dpf delete and mapped to suit. Unless turbo ****s it's self. Then I'll probably go for cr170 turbo
