car has been making hammering/knocking noise. works perfectly the car has a bad maf sensor could this be the problem ?

 I suppose piston has is hitting engine block. No fluttery idle though.

Not  really enough info in that video to really accurately comment, how much and what sort of noise does the engine make when you rev it over 2000 rpm?.

 

Why do you think the rods are bent?, have you over revved the engine or buzzed the red line on a missed gearchange?.

 

I would agree the top end sounds noisy, but injectors kick up a row too, when was the oil strainer last changed - if ever?.

It's not an exhaust manifold leak is it?

Do a compression test if you can, that will tell you if it's major internal damage. Only way to usually bend a rod is to compress something non compressable, like water or any other fluid, unlikely to bend one in normal use.

Took her to a mechanic. He gave a clean chit and claimed engine to be in excellent nick maybe I would try taking a better video in day light . Cheers guys
