Retrofit bad road skid/protection plates?

Featured Replies

Is it possible - like a simple bolt-on, or more difficult?

I have an L&K on order, but would like some extra protection against hard snow and ruts as I have a stretch of rough road the last part to our mountain cabin. Any advice on original or thirdparty equipment for the S3?

Thanks,

Christopher

We had some made up for the Mk1 Fabia, but this was some time ago!

In principle, take the plastic engine tray to a metal fabricator, use the original plastic version as a template and have something made up in suitable thickness stainless steel. With a reinforcement bar, to distribute the extra weight, compared with the standard plastic offering.

This is what the Mk1 Fabia one looked like - came in very handy! As that was known for having quite a vulnerable sump, as a few members on here will attest to!

I have an original.

It is a much larger part and you need 2 metal arms and different bolts.
