Kessy door opening

Featured Replies

I must be an awkward so and so but when I put my hand on the driver's handle it bleeps and flashes the lights but doesn't open the car door perhaps 70% of the time. The fob is in my pocket, honest guv. I have tried touching the slot on the handle with my thumb and my hand alternatively but haven't yet got the trick right. I have just read the question with regard to opening the hatch with a kick rather than a swipe of the foot, so wondered whether there is another obvious method for the drivers door that I am missing as well?

Touching "the slot" closes the door

Touching "the slot" closes the door

Semantics - but it actually locks the door which must already be closed.

Don't rest your thumb on the outside as you'd then be touching both the locking and unlocking sensors simultaneously.

The sensor is on the inside of the handle for opening and on the outside (by the slot) for locking.

Don't snatch the handle when unlocking. Hold the inside of the door handle with four fingers a split second until it beeps, then pull the handle to open the unlocked door.

It needs to be a slow deliberate placement of four fingers inside the handle wait for the bleep and pull, anything on the outside of the handle near the "slot" will cause the car not to open.

You are correct. I just chose to keep it simple as the OP said "KESSY door opening" when he obviously meant unlocking!

If its like the system on the SII, it may be impacted by having your phone near your keys, especially if you have your fob and phone in the same pocket.
