Drivers Seat belt

Featured Replies

This may be a common issue - not really sure - but does anyone else's drivers seatbelt retract slowly when the weather is damp/raining? No sunroof on mine, and no door seal issues that I can see (don't get any wet spots after I have washed it - by hand or with a pressure washer at the garage)

yes for me too

I think it is the interior door seal behind the door card

I have sealed and replaced stuff on roof channel drain and the drivers door rubber seal to no avail

let me know if you manage to solve it

It's not water ingress, generally if the door seal fails water does not get into the B pillar and seatbelt mechanism anyway.

It's a feature of the model Sir :) they all go like this, mine is the same except it does it all the time now, wet or dry! It's just the retract spring getting tired, plus the mechanism is probably full of fluff and dirt too. An age thing really.

Could strip, clean and re-bulid the mechanism, put up with it, or probably easiest of all, replace the unit.

Ah, fair play, we all suffer with strange accumulations of fluff etc in weird places as we age I suppose :) :)

Will dismantle the trim one day and have a nose see what I can find.

It's fluff that collects from clothing. There is a section in to owners manual on the cleaning and care of seat belts.
