1.4 TDI - BNV engine - Mr Muscle - Anyone done it ?

Featured Replies

My dad has done this with success on a 1.9TDi PD in an A4. Bit more of a faff on a transverse engine but deffo worth a try if you think your vanes are sticking

I think he just disconnected the exhaust flexi from the turbo and sprayed it in

SuperbTWM - I have watched a video of the method you have mentioned and I think that's the way I am going to do it, I cannot see any easier way in from the top..

Thanks.

I have no idea. I did a search and found conflicting information.

What problems are you having and we might be able to point you in the right direction.

It's not really a big problem, I just feel that it's lacking a bit of power and wondered whether to give the Mr Muscle a go, always assuming the engine had VNT.

Everything else is in order, all serviced correctly to the book - Air Cleaner is new, Injection Lash, Torsion Value and Cam Belt are all set 100% spot on - I found a very slight air leak at the large O ring on the EGR valve connection, now tightened up, but just looking to regain it's normal performance.

No VNT on the 1.4TDI, I think the 90PS Audi A2 fitted with the same engine has a VNT turbo.

Have your tried something like Redex and taking it for a spirited drive? This works quite well for me when it starts to feel a bit sluggish.
