Door rust

Featured Replies

I found that some rust does accumulate just below the door trim. I can wipe it off successfully, but still not sure if this is normal and can it be prevented? It happens on all doors. The doors are not holding any water inside.

The rust forms like on the picture (red line):

If you can just "wipe it off" it sounds more like there is some staining/marking carried by water/moisture passing through or retaining in the sill rather than the rust forming on the site itself?

Be good to get a picture of the actual marks just to be sure though...

In either case, if it were me I would raise it with the dealer.

It is weird though, because it looks like rust in color (brown!), but it can be wiped off (I did wipe this before several times). Not sure, could be some dirt mixed with water making this. I will look at this more closely next time if forms. Anybody god similar thing?
