Skoda Symphony Radio/CD Player intermittent reception

Featured Replies

Having had an issue with my stereo whereupon after playing for a while it would fail to receive radio signal and all reception would be lost yet CD still worked fine!

I had imagined it was a fault with the aerial but as I was lost in purchasing a new steering pump at the right price before I put my car on the road my issues with the stereo took a back seat.

Stripped my car and awaited delivery of pump... 6 weeks later pump arrived and was duly fitted which restored my steering to effortless manoeuvrability!

Radio lost code and no record of it in handbook or elsewhere...

Mine comes and goes intermittently aswell.

Take the car to Skoda and see if they can help with the radio

I had crappy / intermittent radio signal with both my MK1 Fabias (Y and 54 plate). It was water ingress into the ariel base and a new one was required. It's an easy job to fit. Just drop the headlining down a bit at the rear and there is a nut on the underside of the ariel where it goes through the roof along with electrical connections. Once I put new bases on them the radio signal was strong again. Seems to be a weak spot on the MK1 Fabia I'm afraid.

Superb, I'll look at getting this sorted

My radio (aftermarket Sony fitted by previous owner) loses signal quality if I have my phone charging via the cig lighter/power socket. Is that an earthing issue?
