Aftermarket Octavia II FL Headlights?

Featured Replies

My wife has the Fabia Monte Carlo, which has black headlights (reflectors are black with clear lens). I think that modding the lights on my Octavia Blackline VRS would be really set it off, as I have replaced the chrome grille surround with a black one.

I have seen guides on how to remove the lens and spray painting them, but would like to keep the original ones, just in case of a mishap, or putting them back when selling. I had thought of getting the OEM ones from a breakers yard and doing the mod on them. However, I see that there are aftermarket ones available for £150 for a pair on eBay/Amazon. It doesn't have the Octavia logo on the sides, but that won't matter...

Has anyone used these, or of someone who has? I know it should fit fine, but worried more about the quality, compared to the OEM ones.

I have a genuine pair of FL halogens sat in the garage which I'd be happy to sell. Both are in great condition and removed when I fitted xenons :-)

Drop me a PM if you're interested in them.

Generally I've found when also looking for something similar to what you are suggesting that they are only for left hand drive octavias. So I would check first unless they state for UK vehicles. But if you live in Europe then happy days.. Link??

I've seen the black ones on SuperSkoda's website, which would have been perfect, if it wasn't the fact it is for left-hand drive cars only. They don't do a right-hand version at all...

Where did you see the guide to painting them?

If you are confident enough to open and spray them, why don't you use plasti dip paint? Would be much cheaper (but time consuming) than buying second set of headlights.

I was originally looking 2nd set to make modification and can revert back to original if selling car, or made a mess of it, otherwise no lights for driving....
