Goddamn Insurance Company Wont Let Me Play....

Featured Replies

Well i just found out that my insurance company wont let me Jabba the Octy. I'm well ****ed, so i'm thinking of changing insurers - does anyone know if i can carry over the three months ive been with my current insurers to a new company, or is it a case start again?

It's normally a case of start again!

I think you have to start again as it's a new policy but...if you've paid upfront you'll probably get the remainder of your premium back.

Good luck!

been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. :(

WHen exactly four months are up on my policy (conveniently 4 days prior to Jabba) I have to cancel my policy with More Th>n (who I was praising before...) and start with good 'ole L.Vic

I was told, very abruptly I must add, that More Th>n would NOT insure me at all if I changed anything on the engine, at all!. I think my thoughts were, "Well, sod ya then!" :D

Howard, you should get a full refund for the unexpired period of insurance if you have been insured for more than a year. If not, they may apply short terms rates and give you back less.

You will probably find that most Ins. Cos. never refund during the last 2 months (it is usually buried in the small print).

As Denis has siad, if you've been with them over a year, some companies go on a pro-rata basis. I had no problems switching from DL to LV.

Norwich Union Direct were scrupulously fair with me, refunding pro rata on the car insurance cover, legal protection cover, breakdown cover and overseas cover as well.
