Fabia Estate to replace my Fiesta?

Featured Replies

Hello. Has anyone here done a comparison of the current model Fiesta and the current Fabia estate?

I've got a 2011 3 door Fiesta with the 82PS petrol engine, but I'm considering replacing it with a new car that's better for carrying passengers and objects. My priorities are:

Width: I'd like to be able to put it in my garage, and the Fabia estate seems to be one of the few cars that's more spacious than my Fiesta but not much wider (Fiesta 1722mm, Fabia 1732mm, both without mirrors).

My 3-door Fiesta is fairly unwelcoming for rear-seat passengers. Apart from advantage of 5 doors, how suitable is the Fabia estate for carrying 4 or 5 adults?

What's visibility in the Fabia estate like for reversing and pulling out of junctions, compared to other modern cars?

What sort of real world fuel consumption do people get with the 110PS Fabia estate? With careful driving I average 48mpg in my Fiesta, and ideally I'd like to improve on that.

Welcome to the forum.

Worth asking in the Fabia Mk3 Section.

Visibility is good and i can not think of any estate that is better.

Best go to a Skoda Dealer and drive one and see what you think.

I think you might struggle to better 48MPG with the 1.2 TSI engine. The Fabia is pretty spacious in the rear, unless the front seats are pushed all the way back. Have you considered the Rapid Spaceback? It's a similar width to the Fabia but with much better rear passenger space. The boot is not far off the Fabia's either.
