EGR + cooler removal question

Featured Replies

If I remove the EGR and cooler I presume my engine light will come on?

If the light comes on will my engine go into limp mode?

Basically I can remove them but I don't know how soon I can get it mapped out.

I suspect it's the cause of the lumpy running and kangarooing and supposedly you can get better mpg without it?

Essentially I want them out and can live with the light on for a couple of months but not at risk of limp mode. If for example I am pulling out of a junction and goes into limp and I get smashed into.

Anyone?

EGR isn't crucial engine component so no limp mode involved, only light on dash as you mentioned. Keep in mind that it wouldn't pass MOT with the engine light on.

Yea I knew any engine light is a fail thanks for info and confirm no limp mode

My Renault Scenic has an engine light but is accompanied by a message saying 'Check Emissions'.  Three different MOT stations have passed it.  I hope I've sorted it now as replaced the EGR and cooler but now need a new battery to see if it's fixed.
