Some VW Dealers following Audi Dealers examples, make it up as you go along.

The Channel 4 Dispatch programme finds some VW Dealership employees misleading potential customers on the Safety Rating of 2015 & 2016 Polo's.

Obviously they will be as safe as when the testing was still valid, but it just goes to show the 'Honesty' that you get now that there is no 'Das Auto'.  Just the VW Group that learns from the past. Not!

the only VW dealer repellent :finger:  you need is  the word "electric"     they soon loose interest :dull:

Lying about emissions and safety... Not looking good for VAG really, is it?

I find existing is enough to make them lose interest.

VW won't offer me a test drive of a Golf GTD, SEAT would let me go in a Leon FR after agreeing a price, and BMW lent me an i3 for 3 days after an initial test drive despite me saying I could get one cheaper online. Guess which firm got my order...

Meh,

Ask any dealer of any manufacturer if the car have been NCAP tested and they'll all say yes and make up a figure 4/5 or quite possibly some might say 10/10. Because they more often than not they know hee haw about what they're selling. When I go in a showroom I usually know more about the cars than they do.

If they worked for DFS and you asked if a sofa had been NCAP tested they'd say yes.

I'd assumed all cars needed to go through the testing so not unreasonable that a salesman would too since many don't do much research.

so the E-UP is which's best city car---they were lucky to find someone prepared to actually sell them one :p

?

An e-Up!,  how much would that cost them?, they dont buy them, just give awards.

What Car have the Up! as best over £11,000 and the Citigo best Under.

Odd really but then What Car and Auto Express are the VW Groups greatest fan boys, it must really upset the Publishers having to ever

report on the VW Scandals.

Only available here in Yorkshire though...

I thought they were also sold in Lancashire? :D

Thats the A-Up. Easy mistake to make. :giggle:

Surely this is just a non-story???

Polos were tested and they were given a safety rating at the time of testing - that still stands if nothing else changes.

It's the standards that have moved on - so a car tested today and given a 5* rating will be safer than a 5* car tested 10 years ago.  It's like trying to compare apples and pears - it can't be done???

"E-UP Duck"    only in Stoke on Trent   aka  the "Ay-UP Mester" in Cheshire if you can find an enlightened  dealer

It is a non-story that cars testing now expired has expired, and that is what 'VW Main dealership' sales people should say loud and clear.

Especially after Audi were exposed before with mis-selling by mis-leading and then saying 'Training will be given'.

Anyway there is no need for Main Dealer sales staff to be in doubt now, if they familiarise their selves with the products they are retailing then all will be well.

No more 'Das Auto', just memories of an older age when 'if everything was a reliable as a Golf'.
