Sometimes I keep an eye on spares and repairs cars on ebay for potential money making opportuniies and today I came across this:

I'm really struggling to see this one could be viable in any way whatsoever at 5 grand?

what's the point of the pictures from before it crashed to death?

How can that much damage be "non recorded"...no insurance??..but on the good side it still has an mot so you can drive it away!

Viable for someone stealing an identical and doing a ringer.

That's only any use as a "clean" V5 for a ringer.

I think i see the problem... heres my car outside toysrus. Heres my car smashed to ****. He bought a tamogachi tryin to be all be hipster cool and stuffed it on the way home when the pet started screaming at him for food

Lotta airbag deployment... but the back bumper looks okay... that worth 5k?

You have to love a tryer.

 

But it might be alright for an MOT with some T-Cut and a new set of wiper blades.

Not unless they're all supposed to be at right angles to each other

 

How much would this actually cost to get back on the road?

On a quick ringer just replacing the glass you break to get into the car being stolen, 

the locks and new plates and some time and materials.

Shipping abroad or what ever, or just a quick shifting on to some other toerag.

 

Hopefully some Insurance Loss Adjuster or Police officer sees the advert, traces the seller and there are questions over this being a possible V5 sale to assist in possible dishonesty.

You can report dodgy items to ebay - quite common to see VIN plates and logbooks from old series land rovers for sale

You can indeed, and then they sometimes are taken down and other times not.

 

The ad in this thread is still up which is good because it probably has given time for owners of similar cars that are undamaged to become aware and secure their cars better.
