Antifreeze please

Featured Replies

Hi all. Winter is approaching. I hope I won't need to top up the coolant, but if so will Halfords antifreeze be OK ?

Car is a new Octavia, 1.4 petrol engine, auto gearbox.

Thanks

Halfords will sell something listed as ok for VAG engines but I can't recall which.  I'd stick with G13 from the (or any other VAG) dealership though, its not expensive....and its August, you've plenty of time....[mutters under breath] winter is coming....tsk tsk   :dull: [/mutters under breath]

Winter approaching..............its August!

It shouldn't need a top up, as long as its between Min and MAX.

As neiln says only use VW approved coolant G13 or whatever it says on the coolant tank. Dont mix with other stuff.

I'd be worried if your coolant needed topping up on a new car!

Or try TPS if you have one close.

Kinbrace, Sutherland recorded temperatures below freezing last night.

Just sayin'!

Suggest get anti-freeze density checked at garage (probably free) to see whether enough anti-freeze present to cover winter low temperatures..
