Folding door mirrors

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone tell me if the door mirrors on my superb 11 should fold in automatically when I switch the ignition off

No. Manual operation with keyfob only.

Presuming that your car does have folding mirrors as indicated on the "toggle" switch on the drivers door armrest, then yes as above though you need to hold the key fob locking button for a couple of seconds as this activates the folding mirrors. You also can fold the mirrors with the armrest "toggle" switch.

If they don't work, you may find they just need a reset..

Open all the Windows. Once they're fully lowered, simultaneously raise all the windows whilst continually holding the buttons in the up position.

Keep the buttons raised for 10 seconds once the windows fully close. This resets the system including the folding mirrors.

What about if you have the dial on the mirror control that has a fold position? Should I be able to have them auto fold???

No, you still need to use the keyfob button.

No - I have the same on my dial and there is no auto fold, there is just pressing the lock button on the fob for a few seconds so that they then fold in. If you don't have the fold position function on the mirror control dial then there is no electric folding at all.

(I thought there was something wrong with my car at first - I spent time looking through the MID and the Columbus trying to locate  a setting for "always fold when locked" or similar. )

I don't mind pressing a button to fold them - didn't know I could tbh

Me neither - now that i have got used to it.

The handy thing about folding them using the fob is that they will then fold out automatically when you start the car, no need to use the control switch.

Funnily enough I tried it out today. Love it. Learn something everyday. Looks very smart for them to fold out automatically.

Yes, it's great.

I have Dec 2014 SE and I can't open nor close windows from key fob :( tried to use full/legal/latest version of VCDS - but couldn't access Convenience section :( and no errors when full scan :( is there "full" and "light" versions of the Convenience module ??
