I know this is a common question here, but I want to just double check my rapid is fine (as it has a month or so left of warranty so would use that if need be).

 

It seems to emit the standard 'ticking' noise when idling, particularly when cold. I've looked at about a dozen different videos, particularly chain rattle ones and I wouldn't say it is as severe as that (they seem far noisier). I am going to post a video later of it for you guys to look at.

 

I've also looked at the engine no. to help me, it is CBZ one manufactured 2.7.13, should this therefore be the model with the modified timing chain?

 

I know the other numbers from the manufacturing part but don't know what these correlate to.

My 1.2 TSI ticked. I think it's the normal sound of the fuel pump. Timing chain is more of a rattle.

As above - a consistent low level ticking noise is typical for the 1.2. More of a rattle/clanking noise would be a loose chain (and would also likely increase when hitting bumps etc).

I've been out of the country so long I cant remember what my TSi sounds like.

I do know is doesnt sound like an old lorry or a concrete mixer so it's not a 1.6TDi or a 1.4TDi
