Four plus parts

Featured Replies

Has anyone used brake pads and discs from the four plus parts range

Any views on them

Also I have a 2012 skoda octavia greenline estate. When I look in Eurocarparts for brakes it lists 2 X disc sizes anyone know if it will have the larger or smaller discs or is it a case of getting tape measure out

There will be a brake pr code on the first page of the service book , the euros web site will show the pr codes for the discs in the fitment section .

I just ordered front pads from number1forskoda on eBay. Genuine pads for a Vrs, £57 down from £74. Had to replace brand new mintex pads that were manafactured wrong on one pad.

The pr codes showing in the front of the service book don't patch any of the pr codes on the Eurocarparts list

Am I missing something

Just phone a Skoda dealer ask for prices and part nos., (both original and 4plus) they would probably tell you the size from the description, too.

Personally as Skoda state openly that 4plus parts are not made to the same standard as original parts, ie they are cheap aftermarket parts, I'd prefer to use euro car parts and select one of the OE brands (eg ATE) probably cheaper too. Might be cheaper still from carparts4less (same company as eurocarparts), don't forget to wait and catch the 30% discount codes.

And then there is Briskoda parts, you can pm them and they will get back to you with a comprehensive quote for original parts.

does anyone still use copper slip when fitting new pads or do they just rely on the materials on the back of the pads plus any shims that are supplied

have translated all my pr codes but non mention the front brakes

front brakes PR code seem to be missing all 3 service books I have. Used a tape measure and matched to drawings in my case.

Copperslip is likely to lead to electroltytic corrosion and is a dust magnet. The correct stuff to use is Cera tec non metallic brake grease.

Its a lot less messy than copperslip and it stays where you put it.
