Nagging service indicator

Featured Replies

My diesel 1.9 has started to nag me about doing a service, but I won't be able to do one for another couple of months.

Can I just reset it, then reset it again when I do it for real in 8 weeks time?

If instead I just leave it and let it carry on warning each time it go to start up, will it do something drastic like falling into 'limp' mode after so many warnings?

Ours is the same. I can't get it to clear. It's been like that for months and never caused any issues apart from being annoying.

Thanks boys.  I'll just leave it as a minor PITA until I get around to doing the service.

Have tried the trip meter and got it to work a while ago only once but not since.

Will try via maxidot. Change the oil and filter every 5000 miles anyway so variable setting not required.

Just tried resetting service indicator via maxidot. 20 seconds and it was done. Very easy.
