More issues with my Octavia :-(

You never are with these cars. I need to sort a few knocks. It hunts a little on idle. The sia is shot. I love my octy its never boring. My fabia vrs never really needed work. Still a fun car

Mine does that, its getting worse but I suspect its a leaky pipe.

  • Usually some kittenhole has jacked up the car on the rear beam and bent it to kitten.

  • Probably best to get it onto a four wheel laser alignment rig, so they can check the complete set up.

the hunting on idle is going to be 1 of a few things.

 

 - First on the list is check all vacuum hoses, if any look old or worn then replace them. Warning, there are a lot on these engines.

 - Next is coil packs, this engine actually had a recall for them but there are kits to upgrade them to 2.0T ones.

 - Coil pack loom is another thing to check as they sit in a hot part of the engine so dry out and crack over time. PIG of a job to do.

On the first cylinder on the left, the plastic sheet on one of these cables is cracked. Ive had a ecu scan done and its not given any error codes. 

Very odd issue.
