Anyone have a definitive list of 312mm brake upgrade donor models?

Featured Replies

As the title suggest really! :)

Going down the scrappy tomorrow and apart from a Mk2 vRS & Mk5 Golf GTi, does anyone know EXACTLY what model cars I can look for which will have the correct carriers for me to poach to do the 288mm to 312mm brake upgrade? I know the Passat is also an option (think it might be the B6 version??), but as with other makes & models, I'm just not sure what variant/years I should be looking at, and I've done a LOT of searching to find bits and bobs here and there, hence this thread to clarify once and for all for everyone.

So away you go boys & girls!

Ooh, and does anyone know if there's any markings/numbers stamped on them to make it double sure that I'm not being a donut and buying the wrong ones, cos they DO all look similar! :D

I'm pretty sure the mk1 Octavia vrs had the 312mm front brakes so the carriers should be the same? If they are, that could bring the mk4 gti into consideration. Mk2 Seat Leon FR. That's what i have at the moment and they look the same as my mk2 vrs. Oh and if you see any mk2 Leons with an armrest grab it for me!!????

Mk1 has different spacing on the centre hub I think.

The Pug 307 GTi had the same brakes, but I forget if they used the same hubs and so carriers or not.

To be honest new carriers were not particularly expensive at the dealers back in the day.

I've got Callipers, carriers and pads in mint condition that would fit perfectly, in the for sale section and open to offers.post-120571-0-97741100-1470847822_thumb.jpeg

Got mine from ebay off a 2011 Audi TT for £75 including pads, they'd even been cleaned and re-sprayed dark grey, an absolute steal and working like a dream.
