I've got a VRS which I've often posted about having a lack of power. I never really got to the bottom of it but just got on with it.

Tomorrow I've got a pretty long drive down to the coast and I'm dreading it.

Why?

 

Because the car feels like an effort to drive, I always feel like I'm 'battling' with the low power and where when I used to just be able to drive miles and miles and enjoy the journey as the car glided over hills and climbs like they were nothing, now I feel like it's just so gutless and I feel like you have to make run-ups and prepare to do things.

It's hard to describe but even my 75bhp~ Berlingo van feels beautifully smooth in comparison. Ok my van has done about 2k miles and my car has covered 122k but still.

 

Any ideas because I've frankly had enough and I'm about a drive away from putting it up for sale!?

Would immediately think turbo/no boost/boost fault. I assume you've checked for fault codes. Smoke out the back? Would've thought any reputable garage could diagnose something. Good luck. Nothing worse than a gutless car that used to go like f..k!
