1.2 HTP Service

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm about to service the missus' car. I can't find online anywhere how much oil the engine takes.  It's a 2008 1.2, 3 cylinder.  Anyone have any idea?  I've bought 4 litres.

Also, I can't for the life of me find where the pollen filter is.

Anything else I should know before starting?

Thanks guys.

Think it's a touch under 3 litres of oil.

Pollen filter under dash/glove box I think.

Iirc 2.8 litres, but as with every oil change, fill a little less (say 2 litres) and then check/top up a little/repeat until it registers in the middle of the hatched area, bear in mind it takes a good 2 or more minutes to get down to the sump. Run the engine for a minute or two to circulate the oil, checking oil pressure light extinguishes immediately. Then switch off, wait 2 or 3 minutes and recheck the level. Top up according to measured level but take care not to go over the top of the hatched area.

Recheck after a short run (5-10 mins) allowing at least 3 or 4 mins after its stood.

Pollen filter under dash passenger side, search forum for a pictorial guide.
